New Parishioners
WelcomeIt is our pleasure and privilege to welcome you to Holy Angels Parish. Our parish serves our local community of Woodbury, National Park, Westville Grove and many of the surrounding communities.
We extend our hands and hearts to you in Christian hospitality, whether you are a long-term area resident, newly arrived, or just in town for the weekend. We are pleased to welcome you to our parish. Feel free to contact any member of our Parish Staff or Our Clergy--they will be happy to assist you in any way they can. Make sure when you attend Mass to introduce yourself to our pastor, Fr. Joseph Byerley or one of the other priests. Please register with us by downloading Holy Angels Registration Form, or, taking one from one of the churches located at the entrance. Return it by mail, dropping off in the offering basket, or the parish office. |
If you register as a member of our parish, we will be able to serve your needs more completely. What We Believe"Our profession of faith begins with God, for God is the First and the Last, the beginning and the end of everything. The Credo begins with God the Father, for the Father is the first divine person of the Most Holy Trinity; our Creed begins with the creation of heaven and earth, for creation is the beginning and the foundation of all God's works." ---the Catechism of the Catholic Church, no. 198

Catholic Social TeachingThe Church's social teaching is a rich treasure of wisdom about building a just society and living lives of holiness amidst the challenges of modern society. Modern Catholic social teaching has been articulated through a tradition of papal, conciliar, and episcopal documents. The depth and richness of this tradition can be understood best through a direct reading of these documents. In these brief reflections, we highlight several of the key themes that are at the heart of our Catholic social tradition.

Parish MinistriesWe welcome you to become involved in one or more of our many ministries listed on our website. Your participation will help you to discover many friends at Holy Angels Parish. It will help you live out the promise you made to Christ in Baptism and Confirmation.
Your participation will continue to make Holy Angels Parish an active community of faith-possibly even opening doors to your faith. |
Pope Francis said: “ Jesus keeps knocking on our doors, the doors of our lives. He doesn't do this by magic, with special effects, with flashing lights and fireworks. Jesus keeps knocking on our door in the faces of our brothers and sisters, in the faces of our neighbors, in the faces of those at our side."
What is My Responsibility?
Individuals and families are considered members of the parish if they are formally registered, are active and contributing to the mission and needs of Holy Angels Parish. By “registered” is meant that we have an updated record of the individual’s or family’s membership in the parish.
To register, simply fill out a registration form available from the parish office. By active is meant that the individual or family attends Mass weekly and on holy days, and participates in other parish activities according to need, desire, interest and availability. By contributing is meant that the individual or family supports the parish financially through the use of contribution envelopes or online giving, and/or offers their time and talents to the parish in service to its needs.
Individuals and families who are not registered, active and contributing will find it difficult to obtain some parish services, such as a letter of eligibility if asked to be a Godparent at Baptism or Sponsor for Confirmation.
