Behold, How Love is Born!
Jesus IS the Reason for This Season
AND ANY SEASON!
Christmas 2020
The Lord said to me: You are my Son; this day I have begotten you. (Ps 2:7)
The psalm verse above is the entrance antiphon for Christmas Mass at Midnight. In the span of this short sentence, the whole history of salvation is contained. Reaching back to Adam and continuing until the end of the world, the birth of Christ affects every moment of time.
The Shepherds and the Magi knew they were witnessing something great when they arrived at the stable in Bethlehem but they were, however, unaware just how great this event was. For there before them, in the newborn baby in the manger, was the union of heaven and earth - of God and humanity. And all who, like the Magi and the shepherds, humbly come and worship the Christ child can and will experience the full power of the love found in the word made flesh. Despite the challenges of this past year, today we celebrate the incarnation of Love coming to bring the transforming and saving power of that love to a world in desperate need of it. Jesus Christ is born. It is the dawn of our salvation, let us rejoice! |
On behalf of our priests, Fr. Hugh Bradley, Fr. Jose Manjakunnel, and Fr. Nick Dudo, our deacons, Deacon Vincent Latini, Deacon Michael D'Ariano and Deacon Samuel Spoto, our seminarian, Cesar Pirateque and our entire staff, I want to wish all of you an abundant share of the Lord’s love this Christmas. May Christ our Savior fill your hearts with his love and bring you the peace and joy he wants you to enjoy.
Know that you and your families are in the Priests’ intentions at all of the Christmas Masses. As we enter the New Year, may all of us be transformed more into the likeness of Christ so that after having received the love of Christ ourselves, we may share it with others. God bless you and may you have a holy and joyful Christmas celebration,
